Etisalat and Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost Shurooq's digital services as well as digital master planning of its existing and new projects.

The MoU was signed by Abdul Aziz Hamad Taryam, CEO Advisor and General Manager, Northern Emirates at Etisalat and Marwan Jassim Al Serkkal, Executive Chairman, Shurooq at the GITEX Technology Week 2108 currently being held from 14-18 October at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Marwan Jassim Al Serkkal, Executive Chairman, Shurooq said: "Today's partnership will help us achieve our digital ambitions and is in line with the country's overall objective and positioning as the most digitally advanced in the Arab region. We are proud to partner with Etisalat and looking forward to working with the team in making this digital dream a reality."

Abdul Aziz Hamad Taryam, CEO Advisor and General Manager, Northern Emirates said: "As part of our overall strategy and objective of 'Driving a Digital future to Empower Societies' we are working closely with the public and private sector to enable digital technologies and solutions to help boost their digital services."

Both parties have agreed to form working groups to engage in workshops to assess, discuss, and identify various business propositions. As the digital service provider, Etisalat will provide Shurooq with a wide array of smart solutions related to smart cities, smart malls and smart retail, smart entertainment and culture, and smart hotels and hospitality. Etisalat will also provide Shurooq with telecom and ICT solutions, including managed services, data center consolidation, hosting and cloud, and managed security services.

Furthermore, Etisalat signed another Memorandum of Understanding with Umm Al Quwain Municipality to appoint the municipality as a partner to promote eLife packages to new tenants.

Etisalat is pleased to partner with UAQ Municipality to promote the availability of Etisalat products and services across a wide partner base, giving our customers the flexibility of purchasing our services at their convenience at more locations across the country.

The MoU was signed at the GITEX Technology Week 2108 as well by Abdel Aziz Hamad Taryam, General Manager, Northern Emirates at Etisalat, and Obaid Sultan Tewersh, acting Director General of UAQ Municipality.
