Ranplan has signed a global partnership with Ascom Network Testing to market Ranplan iBuildNet technology, the first all-in-one, heterogeneous network planning, optimization and simulation solution for small cell, DAS and WiFi networks, across both indoor and outdoor environments. Under the brand TEMS iBuildNet, the new Ascom offering will reduce the time and cost of designing and deploying in-building and metropolitan mobile networks to deliver maximum coverage and capacity.

The new partnership gives Ranplan access to international markets and expands Ascom's TEMS portfolio of deployment and analytics tools, providing customers with a complete end-to-end workflow solution from a single vendor. iBuildNet uses advanced 3D modelling and fast and accurate 3D ray-tracing, along with powerful data algorithms and analysis to automatically optimize the choice of Access Point (AP) location, antenna type, power and channel assignment.

With an intuitive graphical interface, iBuildNet does not require advanced training and can be used with iBuildNet Tablet, an intelligent onsite, stand-alone planning and optimization tool. Combined with Ascom's measurement and analytics solutions, TEMS Pocket and TEMS Discovery, the complete solution dramatically cuts deployment time and generates significant cost savings.

""This exciting partnership with market-leader Ascom is a great endorsement of our iBuildNet technology and gives us immediate access to global markets, including major telcos and system integrators,"" says Graham Peel, CEO at Ranplan. ""We can now focus our efforts on targeting specific sectors and developing new features and functionality for universal indoor/outdoor wireless planning. We will shortly be announcing enhanced WiFi capabilities and will be supporting the Internet of Things later this year.""

""This partnership brings together market-leading solutions to provide the most comprehensive suite of planning and deployment tools available today from a single supplier for in-building and indoor/outdoor environments,"" commented Rikard Lundqvist, general manager Ascom Network Testing. ""While Ascom and Ranplan will both continue to work with other vendors and partners as we do today to ensure we support the broadest range of solutions in the market, we're excited to be able to offer customers a complete package and have the potential to continue to improve workflows and drive down costs for our customers over time.""
