Industry expectations are that the first set of 3GPP 5G standards will be finalized in time for first full-blown commercial 5G networks by 2020, says Aji Ed, head of Technology, MEA, Nokia, speaking to Telecom Review. The global ICT industry is booming and this digital revolution requires more energy than ever before, resulting in higher operational costs.
