UAE telecom provider du, a brand of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has introduced new flexible mobile subscription plans, where customers can benefit from the data minutes offered on a contract plan with the flexibility of prepaid.

du's new Control Plan allows smartphone users to upgrade from prepaid without the worry of overspending with a solution that gives them a fixed monthly bill and the flexibility to recharge for additional usage. Customers who subscribe to the new plan will not have any contractual obligations, meaning they can cancel at any time.

The 'Control Plan 80' package gives customers a choice of 2GB data and 50 flexible minutes, or 2GB data and 100 national minutes. The 'Control Plan 135' gives customers a choice of 2.5GB data and 200 flexible minutes or 300 national minutes.

"People are looking to regain control over their spending, especially when it comes to their telecommunications needs. Introducing the innovative mobile concept of control to the UAE market will put our customers in total control of their consumption and spending," said Fahad Al Hassawi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Telco Services at EITC (du).

"We believe in clearly communicating our services to customers in order to let them know what they pay and know what they get," he added. "We launched the Control Plan in alignment with our commitment of delivering our services in the most transparent way."

Prepaid customers who enroll in the new Control Plan will continue to enjoy the benefits of a contract plan with the flexibility of prepaid. While the bill amount of this plan can never be exceeded, customers have the option of bolstering their data and minutes at any time by recharging with 'More Time' or 'More Data' using prepaid recharge cards or online through the du app that allows customers to manage plans, view and pay bills as well as activate add-ons.

Some of the postpaid benefits that the Control Plan will offer include: the ability to get the latest handsets with zero up-front and interest-free installments; a wide portfolio of add-ons and services, including bill holidays; and the convenience of a continuous connection; all without the worry of overspending.

Customers can register for the new Control Plan, which is available for all new and existing customers, online, at any du retail store, or in any of our partner stores. Enrolling in this transparent plan is easy, du says - all that is needed is a debit card and a UAE national ID.
