Zain Bahrain has become the first telecom network operator to provide enhanced mobile and broadband (4G and 5G) network connectivity in the newly-developed areas of East Hidd, Hidd block 111, and Lawzi.

These areas are primarily where new housing projects are being developed by the Ministry of Housing and private developers. In line with the government’s direction in facilitating the telecom services in those areas, Zain Bahrain took a progressive approach to roll out 4G and 5G broadband networks to these specific areas. Thus, residents will enjoy enhanced data speed and greater network connectivity.

The network enhancement highlights Zain Bahrain’s capability and continuous commitment to empowering Zain Bahrain customers with solutions and services that enhance people's digital lives.  Moreover, residents are provided with 5G broadband technologies thereby improving their streaming, gaming, and applications that require high bandwidth and better latency.

With Zain Bahrain’s 5G broadband, the residents in these areas will have a router that can supply both wired and wireless broadband to various devices at home.

Commenting on the occasion, Ali Al-Yaham, Director Technology at Zain Bahrain said: “During these unprecedented COVID-19 times we understand our responsibility as a telecommunications operator and a digital enabler is much bigger than normal times. We sought to ensure that connectivity for the residents remotely working or attending online classes or providing education do not get hampered during these tough times.”
