As Huawei kicked off the 14th Global Mobile Broadband Forum in Dubai, UAE, Li Peng, Huawei's Corporate Senior Vice President and President of the company's Carrier BG, delivered a keynote. In his speech, Li called on global carriers and industry partners to rise to the occasion, address increasing demands on networks, and make the most of the future trends.

Nokia has built a state-of-the-art 400G national optical backbone network for du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC). The network crosses the entire country, reaching from the western border to the east. Powered by Nokia’s super-coherent optics, the new optical network will allow du to address the growing capacity requirement while providing an enhanced network experience to its customers.

Ericsson has announced a key milestone in the company’s strategy to create a global network platform business with network APIs. Ericsson and Deutsche Telekom (DT) are launching a commercial partnership to offer communication and network APIs to developers and enterprises.

Nokia introduced its Network as Code platform and developer portal, which enables application developers and communication service providers (CSPs) to accelerate the work of producing software applications for new enterprise, industrial, and consumer use cases and monetizing 5G and 4G network assets beyond basic connectivity.

The recent NESAS and SCAS audits of Ericsson’s Transport portfolio, featuring products such as the MINI-LINK 6000, Router 6000 and Fronthaul 6000 series, proved highly successful, with all components achieving the stringent security levels required in independent testing. The successful audit results mean that Ericsson is security-compliant across its entire RAN and Transport portfolios.
