ZainTech, the one-stop digital and ICT solutions powerhouse of Zain Group, has selected Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer to introduce new technology services to create business advantages for its customers across the Middle East. AWS Local Zones are a type of infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database and other services near large populations, industry and information technology (IT) centers—enabling customers to deploy applications that require single-digit millisecond latency to end users or on-premises data centers. Customers can run workloads with low latency requirements on AWS Local Zones while seamlessly connecting to the rest of their workloads running in AWS Regions. ZainTech, the one-stop digital and ICT solutions powerhouse of Zain Group, has entered into an agreement for the complete acquisition of BIOS Middle East, a regional managed secure cloud provider with a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Oman. The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals, will result in the full migration and integration of BIOS Middle East’s operations within ZainTech over the next 12–18 months.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and BMW have announced a strategic collaboration that will see the companies develop innovative cloud technologies together to harness the data potential of future vehicle generations to maximum effect.
