Leading digital solutions and ICT infrastructure provider Benya signed a cooperation agreement with the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) to introduce the latest communications and information technology infrastructure services in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East.
Eng. Ahmed Mekky, Chairman and CEO of Benya, confirmed the importance of the strategic partnership by stating that the company is putting all of its expertise behind establishing a specialized entity to design, manufacture, and operate shared cell towers for the communications and electricity sectors.
The metal towers would allow the simultaneous installation of four or more operators, supporting coverage for all network users in Egypt by meeting the local market’s demand through intelligent digital production lines, as well as exporting to the African and Arab region.
In line with the signing of the agreement, Chairman and CEO of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdelmonem Eltarras confirmed that this implementation follows the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to promote the country's plan for digital transformation using the latest technologies and smart application. According to the Egypt 2030 vision, this will drive the advanced technological infrastructure in Egypt as well as the expansion of digital services in Africa and the Middle East.
In this regard, Eltarras praised Benya for its pioneering role in the field of transferring and localizing digital technology in the sectors of communication and information technology and the development and modernization of technological infrastructure in Egypt, the African region, and the Middle East.
He added that the establishment of this specialized entity provides many job opportunities for young engineers and technicians and training in the latest technology for designing, manufacturing, and operating metal towers according to the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The head of AOI also referred to the agreement as joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research and artificial intelligence, stressing the importance of building human capabilities and training technical cadres to serve the needs of the telecommunications and electricity sectors.
