Ooredoo Qatar, the leading one-stop national provider of ICT in the country, hosted a high-level delegation from Nokia on their visit to Doha.

Events commenced with a site visit to the innovative 974 Stadium, which included Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Thani, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar and Pekka Lundmark, President and Chief Executive Officer at Nokia as well as senior representatives from both entities. Visitors were given a tour of the stadium and a run-through of ICT plans and network readiness for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

A larger delegation later visited Ooredoo’s Security Operations Center (SOC), Wadi Al Sail, where the SOC team gave visitors an overview of Ooredoo’s latest security offerings.

All representatives then reconvened for an executive meeting at Ooredoo Tower to discuss the two entities’ long-term partnership.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Thani, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar stated, “We were pleased to host the visiting delegation from Nokia, a global partner with whom we are proud to cooperate. During the meeting, we reviewed aspects of joint cooperation and discussed ways to further strengthen our relationship and cooperation in the future, in preparation for major sporting events.”
