During the telecom Review Leaders’ Summit, Bernard Najm, VP Telco MEA at AWS had launched the Cloud talk with an opening keynote on cloud innovation for the MEA Region.

He mentioned that the mission of their Telecom Industry Business Unit (TIBU) is to help Middle Eastern and African CSPs to accelerate business value, by innovating with them and for them, and engage on their behalf with a broad ecosystem of partners and developers to deliver solutions.

How? Accelerating business value builds on four main pillars: cloudified networks, simplified operations, reimagined customer experience, and unlocked growth.

As per Najm, cloudified networks will orchestrate a secure, scalable, software-driven network. Simplified operations will transform and automate for the future of business, reimagined customer experience will ignite customer’s data to predict and personalize every interaction with AI/ML, and unlocked growth will accelerate innovation to monetize 5G, edge, and enterprise transformation.

On a second note, Najm shared AWS’ coverage, which is the most secured, extensive, and reliable global cloud infrastructure for all customers’ applications.

AWS currently cover 25 local zones and 29 wavelength zones for ultralow latency applications, serve 245 countries and territories, and enjoys 115 direct connect locations.
