Oman’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA) has prepared a draft regulation for mergers and acquisitions transactions in the telecommunications sector in Oman.
As such, the Authority has announced the launch of a public consultation document on the issue and invites stakeholders and industry players to participate and provide written comments and visuals on the content of the consultation document.
The strategic objectives of the regulation include,
- Enhancing competition in the telecommunications sector
- Maintaining a flexible and up-to-date regulatory environment
- Optimizing investment
The project aims to evaluate the proposed change in control that may affect competition in the telecommunications sector while ensuring that competition and public interests are not significantly affected by the change in control.
