Building an F5.5G All-Optical 10Giga City in 5 ScenariosThe 2023 Huawei Global Analyst Summit brought together industry leaders to discuss the development of F5.5G and its potential applications. F5.5G is Huawei's ambitious initiative to create an all-optical 10Giga city, a network infrastructure that can support 10Gbps everywhere. This initiative has been made possible thanks to eight technological innovations that Huawei has developed to accelerate industry evolution.
Huawei believes that the implementation of an all-optical 10Giga City will begin with five key scenarios: home, enterprise, machine, computing and sensing. In the home scenario, there has been an emergence of new applications such as ultra-HD video, XR, metaverse and cloud desktop. This has led to a need for higher bandwidth, lower latency and higher reliability in home broadband. In the enterprise scenario, smart campus applications require improved network capabilities, and future industrial production will require a 10G all-optical production network that supports the intelligent connection of everything. The machine scenario requires a 10G all-optical network that enables intelligent interconnection, providing >10 Gbps bandwidth, <1 ms latency, <20 μs jitter for ultra-HD quality checking and fast production lines. The rapid development of cloud computing has led to the need for a 10G network that uses simplified architecture and all-optical grooming to reduce transmission power consumption in the computing scenario. Lastly, the optical fiber sensing capability enables fiber digitalization and accurate fault location, achieving visible and manageable fiber networks and improving network operation efficiency in the sensing scenario.
Huawei has launched three solutions: Huawei FTTR OptiXstar F30, the industry's first commercial 50G PON, and Huawei OptiX Alps-WDM, designed for the all-optical home, ultra-broadband access and all scenarios. Industry experts are calling on all parties to continuously promote innovative services and experiences to build a solid digital infrastructure for the five scenarios illustrated.
HAS2023 was a platform for Huawei to communicate with its stakeholders and share its insights on the ICT industry. It also demonstrated Huawei's commitment to creating value for customers and society through innovation and collaboration. As Meng said in her keynote speech, "The time is ripe to thrive together in this new and exciting digital future." By thriving with digital together, Huawei aims to stride towards the intelligent world and create a better future for everyone.
