Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to shape Dubai’s next 185 years of development, according to Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, who briefed a group of AI enthusiasts and experts, including private sector investors, in Dubai.
“AI is not a future vision; it is our reality now. In Dubai, we operate differently. Our long-term vision for our physical infrastructure was first implemented in 1958, and it took 185 years (until 2023) for Dubai’s infrastructure to be considered among the best in the world. Similarly, with AI, we are looking at implementing our AI vision for the next 185 years, starting today,” Al Olama said. He also encouraged the private sector to begin their investment in AI from Dubai and to develop their skills in response to the supportive legislation.

Emphasizing the critical importance of continually adapting to the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence, he urged all stakeholders to actively and effectively utilize the tools and resources available to them. By doing so, they can maintain a competitive edge and prevent themselves from falling behind in the global AI race.
He highlighted that in a world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, staying abreast of the latest developments and integrating them into their operations is not just beneficial but essential. This proactive approach will ensure that they are not only participants but leaders in the AI landscape, capable of leveraging AI to drive innovation and achieve sustainable growth.
