The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has been at the forefront of advancing the United Arab Emirates’ digital transformation and is spearheading the development of intelligent and efficient government services.

Delving into the TDRA’s initiatives and their impact on the country’s digital landscape, Roudah Al Falasi, the TDRA’s Digital Awareness Officer, emphasized the significance of the TDRA’s participation at GITEX GLOBAL 2024. The TDRA crucially contributes to the UAE’s digital transformation by developing innovative digital enablers to enhance government services.

Al Falasi highlighted the TDRA's significant economic and environmental accomplishments, noting that its initiatives have saved AED 368 billion for customers and AED 20 billion for the government.

Additionally, the TDRA's sustainability efforts have saved the government 530 million work hours and reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 55 tons.

TDRA’s Digital Enablers

Al Falasi highlighted the TDRA’s additional services showcased at GITEX GLOBAL, and underscored key digital enablers, such as UAE Plus and the UAE Application Programming Interfaces (API) Marketplace, which are driving the UAE's digital transformation journey.

The Digital Awareness Officer accentuated the government agency’s futuristic technology—the Digital Twin—which devises recommendations and strategies to help prevent various challenges and phenomena from occurring.

When asked how the TDRA will continue to transform its digital services and positively influence citizens’ digital lifestyle and overall satisfaction, she stressed that the TDRA encourages open communication between the government and customers.

Sharik.ae, a collaborative platform supporting the digital collaboration initiative, has established an inclusive environment that enables citizens to actively participate in formulating government policies and services. This initiative empowers citizens to be a part of shaping the future of the UAE.

The Future of the UAE’s Digital Government

Commenting on the future of the UAE’s digital government, Al Falasi highlighted the significance of the growing technological trend—artificial intelligence (AI)—and its ability to enhance the federal network.
