Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei at Mobile World Congress 2018 to launch 5G tests for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed Aboudoma, Mobily CEO, and Mr. Zhang Dongliang Huawei CEO.
"We are working in Mobily to achieve one of the pillars of the Kingdom Vision, in which the Kingdom is seeking to increase high speed internet coverage in different regions of the Kingdom, and enhance the quality of connection," said Eng. Ahmed Aboudoma, Mobily CEO. "In order to achieve this goal, we are currently working on signing a MoU with Huawei and other enterprises that has a track record in launching new technologies over Telecom Towers.
This MoU comes as a contribution from Mobily to achieve one of most important goals of Kingdom Vision 2030, which focuses on setting up technologies to be prepared for any new technical updates in the international telecom industry, Mobily said in a statement.
