Saudi operator Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), in cooperation with Ericsson, is preparing an Internet of Things (IoT) program to be the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that aims to create an interactive platform between university students and staff in order to develop IoT locally and internationally.
This comes out of Mobily's ambition to keep up with the latest technologies around the world, the company said in a statement. Mobily said it is taking responsibility to place the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the forefront of countries in the IoT era, which is in line with its vision.
The IoT partnership agreement was signed between Mobily and Ericsson at this year's 2018 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by Eng. Ahmed Aboudoma, Mobily CEO, and Ericsson President of the Middle East and Africa, Rafiah Ibrahim.
The partnership agreement aims to support and facilitate platforms available for young Saudis to participate and be creative in the IoT field as one of the technical tracks that support digital transformation.
