du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), announced a joint venture with Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) with the aim of establishing a regional infrastructure platform.
The platform will deliver connectivity and data center services across the region. Both parties - that equally own the platform – will be able to serve their customers in a more comprehensive and efficient way.
With 5G deployment becoming a reality in the UAE, operators are investing in data centers to be able to leverage computing, analytics and cloud which will allow them to support 5G connectivity.
Batelco and du announced the joint venture without giving further details on where it will be based or the amount they’ve invested in the venture.
