Etisalat, du mobile network users can now get relief from getting unsolicited promotional or advertising messages on their phones as UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has rolled out a service to block such messages.
TRA shared part of the statement on Twitter stating that as a part of their efforts to improve the telecom services and limit mobile phone advertising messages, an initiative has been launched to block advertising via short messaging service (SMS) in cooperation with the licenced telecom operators - Etisalat and du. "This is the first phase of our initiative to limit undesired advertising messages via mobile phones. We thank the licensed telecom operators for implementing this initiative," the statement added.
