Telecom operator, Ooredoo Oman, has officially launched its new data center in Sohar in an effort to address the growing demands for secure, scalable, and efficient data services in Oman.

With a total capacity of 1,200 racks, the cutting-edge facility is equipped with a robust power supply, reaching 10 megawatts.

The data center, built to Level 3+ standards, ensures outstanding performance, reliability, and security.

Additionally, the facility is poised to enable seamless and secure business operations while maintaining critical operations through improved uptime.

Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Abri, Ooredoo’s Chief Technology and Information Officer, commented on the launch, stating, “The launch of this data center in Sohar represents a strategic milestone for Ooredoo and a key step forward in Oman’s digital transformation.”

The launching of the latest data center reflects Ooredoo Oman’s commitment to driving innovation and advancing Oman’s digital infrastructure landscape.

“By providing robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure, we are enabling businesses to not only meet today’s demands but also future proof their operations. This investment underscores our commitment to driving innovation, fostering growth, and supporting the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040,” Al Abri added.
