As part of e&’s endeavors to empower its talents and best utilize their capabilities in different aspects of its business, Khalid Murshed is stepping up as the new CEO of e& enterprise, effective from January 1, 2025. He will be replacing Salvador Anglada who has been appointed as an Advisor to e& Group.
Murshed has more than 26 years’ experience in the telecoms industry in a number of leadership positions. In 2013, he joined e& Group (then known as Etisalat Group) as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Etisalat Misr in Egypt where, under his leadership, the company successfully launched its 4G network and achieved its goals, becoming the second operator in the Egyptian market.
Currently, Murshed serves as the Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) for e& UAE and boasts a long track record of successes, such as achieving the world's fastest speed (30.5 Gbps) on its live 5G network, completing the world's first ultra-high speed 1.6 Tbps optical solution trial, testing the 6 GHz spectrum for the first time in the MENA region, outlining a blueprint for navigating the future of telecommunications with artificial intelligence (AI), and joining MEF’s exclusive ecosystem.
