Zain KSA, Saudi Arabia’s leading telecom and digital solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global telecommunications giant, Nokia, to develop innovative 5G and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) solutions using Cloud RAN and artificial intelligence (AI) RAN technologies.
The agreement aims to establish a future-ready infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for open wireless networks, accelerating Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. By utilizing Cloud RAN, Zain KSA will deliver a flexible and scalable network infrastructure that enhances performance and reliability.
Meanwhile, AI RAN will facilitate advanced automation and real-time analytics, optimizing operational efficiency and user experience, while supporting cutting-edge technologies, including 6G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and AI.

The partnership will enable Zain KSA to integrate modern AI technologies into its infrastructure, delivering enhanced digital solutions to advance the Kingdom’s digital economy and customer experience in the telecommunications sector.
Zain KSA’s Chief Technology Officer, Eng. Mohammad Abdulaziz AlNujaidi, emphasized the partnership’s significance, stating, “This partnership is a strategic step toward building a more intelligent network with enhanced agility using the latest cloud and AI technologies, positioning us for future innovation through which we can continue to enable nationwide digital transformation.

The collaboration follows Zain KSA and Nokia’s live trial—a first in the Kingdom. This achievement demonstrates Zain KSA’s leadership in deploying the latest innovative technologies to support remarkable digital experiences.
