Finnish telecommunications giant, Nokia, has launched its groundbreaking Autonomous Industrial Monitoring Service (AIMS), transforming its traditional inventory counting process.
Currently deployed by the American wholesale distribution company, Graybar, Nokia’s autonomous drones can seamlessly navigate through warehouses, scan inventory, and constantly keep managers updated on the exact location of warehouse inventories.

New Automated Inventory Counting Feature
Nokia’s latest innovation features an automated inventory counting process, allowing customers to accurately count all visible items. AIMS, on the other hand, can tally if the items are visible from an aisle.
AIMS seamlessly merges advanced barcode scanning with drone autonomy technology into one warehouse management service.
According to Nokia, its AIMS drone can accomplish cycle counts seven-to-ten times faster than human workers, or around 300 inventory locations per hour, reducing manual labor and improving productivity and efficiency.
Initial testing indicates that the feature achieves greater than 90% accuracy, enabling businesses to reconcile inventory records with real-time data.
This innovative solution, the first function of its kind, marks the next generation of cutting-edge inventory analytics in the industry.
