stc Group and Ericsson have achieved a groundbreaking milestone by deploying the world's first implementation of Automated Radio Resource Partitioning (RRP) on a 5G standalone network slice.

The demonstration took place in a live network environment with a select group of users, leveraging stc Group's dual-mode 5G Core, Radio and Transport products provided by Ericsson, along with the new Automated RRP software feature.

Benefits of Automated RRP

Automated RRP is a cutting-edge software feature, based on intent-based automation, that involves the dynamic and intelligent allocation of radio resources to different configured slices to optimize network performance.

The successful implementation of the new software will allow stc Group to transition to a high-performing, programmable network powered by 5G-Advanced. By setting specific targets for throughput, latency, and availability, stc Group ensures the network automatically meets these goals through efficient resource allocation, underscoring the Group’s commitment to pioneering advancements in the telecommunications industry.

This innovative Automated RRP software is available alongside Ericsson’s 5G-Advanced offerings. It enables scalability and delivers new services with secure user experiences.
