TRA recently organized, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, a workshop including detailed explanation about the modern scientific methods followed in the management of contracts, procurement and stocks.

The workshop addressed the procurement procedures and methods that ensure the efficiency and effectiveness through which the procurement process gets completed, in addition to the provisions and procedures related to the preservation of funds and assets.The discussions mainly focused on the standards to be adhered to by the staff government agencies involved in procurement and which are consistent with international best practices and with transparency standards and competitive force enhancement in the state.

Commenting on these efforts, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Obaidli, director of the Legal Affairs Department, TRA, said: ""This workshop comes within the framework of the Authority's keenness on introducing the involved people to the management of administrative affairs and the latest standards and technologies used in this area. We would also like to pay tribute to the cooperation and continuous coordination with the Ministry of Finance team, where their expertise is a key factor in this efforts' success, and in achieving the desired goals and objectives. ""

The workshop has witnessed numerous interventions and large interaction by the participants, and the discussions mainly focused on the importance of experiences' exchange among the various federal agencies, and how to take advantage of modern technologies in the purchase and storage operations in order to get the best and the finest performances through the promotion of transparent competition between different suppliers.
