Nokia is to develop the 5G ecosystem with leading Japanese operator NTT DOCOMO, INC. in Japan to prepare for the upcoming introduction of the next generation wireless network. The collaboration - which uses the Intel 5G Mobile Trial Platform - will commence with the key interoperability testing of multi-vendor technology using the 4.5GHz frequency band.

DarkMatter, the international cyber security firm headquartered in the UAE, launched a Trusted Transparency Program and calls on the technology ecosystem to evolve its outlook to embrace more rigorous vetting of platforms, infrastructure, and operating systems to remove vulnerabilities.

On May 15, 2017, Ericsson signed an MoU with China Mobile's Government and Enterprise Customers Branch and Mobike for a smart travel partnership under the "Belt and Road" framework. The partnership is a response to the government's call for green travel and the "Belt and Road" initiative which aims to improve the overall service level of smart travel and drive the global collaboration and development of the bicycle-sharing industry.

Nokia is expanding its ViTrust portfolio of end-to-end solutions for critical communications with the introduction of a new Ultra Compact Network - the LTE network that can be deployed in places where network connectivity has been lost - and the launch of the Integrated Operations Center, a solution which aggregates data streams used by emergency services in the field.

Huawei announced the expansion of their Telco OS Partner Program to stimulate joint go-to-market approaches and solutions with Service (SI) partners. As part of this initiative, the company also announced that it has signed an Alliance Memorandum of Understanding with Infosys to explore joint solutions in the Business Support Systems (BSS) domain. This announcement was made at the TM Forum Live! 2017, where both companies are participating.
