Huawei is running the 5th edition of its flagship annual ICT Competition across ten countries in the Middle East. The competition aims to nurture and empower the future generation of local ICT talents to effectively contribute to the region’s national plans and visions.

China Mobile awarded a network contract valued at $1.16 billion to the country’s major equipment vendors Huawei and ZTE. Previously-invited foreign vendors Ericsson and Nokia have been left out, showing another geopolitical strain between the West and China.

Nokia along with Vodafone, Benu Networks, Casa Systems and Cisco have successfully tested a system that will facilitate faster delivery of broadband services to new and existing customers across Europe. The test used Control and User Plane Separation technologies defined by both the Broadband Forum and the global mobile standard 3GPP.

Increased bandwidth, speed, and a strong network connection have become the ‘must-have’ components of modern homes to manage data traffic generated by various technological innovation. CommScope’s two new products: the ARRIS SURFboard G34 and G36 DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem and Wi-Fi 6 routers provide the coverage and capacity needed to run all their devices at peak performance.

CommScope has further expanded its industry-leading Wi-Fi 6 home network gateway portfolio with the release of its new Touchstone TG644x DOCSIS 3.1 cable gateways.

Nokia announced it has achieved ISO 9001 certification for its patent portfolio management by successfully completing the independent certification assessment of Nokia’s patent portfolio management process, covering the entire lifetime of the patents.

Huawei has announced the appointment of Steven Yi as president for the Middle East at Huawei. In his role, he will work with both regional and global ICT ecosystem partners towards Huawei’s vision to bring digital to every person, home, and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world.                

Huawei has called for global partners to join the TECH4ALL digital inclusion initiative, which aims to build a more inclusive and intelligent world that leaves no one behind.
