Stockholm-based telecom equipment vendor Ericsson is now walking on a tightrope in China, following the ban of Huawei and ZTE in its home country’s 5G construction business.

Nokia announced the launch of the Nokia Smart Node, a unique indoor mobile module solution delivering high-quality 4G and 5G indoor mobile coverage for residential and small-medium enterprise use.

Since shipping the inhouse-designed Quillion chipset-based broadband solutions for next-gen fiber and copper telecommunication networks in 2020, Nokia has achieved the 100-customer milestone for the Quillion which now being deployed in more than 40 countries around the world.

Huawei has rolled out the CloudCampus 3.0 Solution that combines fully wireless access, One Global Network, Comprehensive Cloud Management and Intelligent O&M of Campus network for enterprise users.

Ericsson has reached an agreement with Nokia for settling a damages claim of 80 million euros ($97 million). The settlement relates to events that were the subject of a 2019 resolution with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of investigations into Ericsson’s violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

President of Pakistan Arif Alvi had a meeting with a Huawei delegation led by Li Xiangyu (SpaceLee), the company's vice president for the Middle East region, wherein the president urged the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to collaborate with Huawei in launching training programs for government employees.

In its bid to continually invest substantial resources in bringing advanced technology networking products and solutions to the market, CommScope has partnered with Optical Cable Corporation (OCC), a leading manufacturer of a broad range of fiber optic and copper data communication cabling and connectivity solutions, for "a long-term agreement to cross-license portions of their patent portfolios," according to a statement.

Nokia and Ooredoo Telecom have entered into an agreement where Nokia will be supplying Ooredoo Kuwait 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) equipment for the operator’s customer premises.

Nokia and UN Women have together launched four pilot projects to bolster inclusion and diversity for equality. These pilots aim to address four different areas such as increasing the number of women employees, raising awareness of cervical cancer and uterine fibroids, promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education, and empowering gender-based violence victims. After the successful execution of the pilots, the two organizations plan to roll these projects out in more countries across the Middle East and Africa region.

The Saudi Ministry of Transport has chosen Huawei technologies to boost the adoption and utilization of technology in the field of transportation and logistics to enhance the services it provides and achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 set by the kingdom.
