Attending Mobile World Congress 2016, Lebanese Telecom Minister, H.E. Boutros Harb was present at the annual International Conference on Telecommunication in Barcelona, where he spoke about the Lebanese government's policy for the development of the mobile telecom sector in Lebanon in the future.

Telecom Minister, Boutros Harb, announced that two services in the telecom sector shall be shortly launched in Lebanon, which would ensure the development of the needed infrastructure to keep abreast with the global progress and laying the foundations for 5G service.

"The world of telecommunication has become influential on all aspects of life and the human world," said Harb, underlining the need for the provision of requisite infrastructure to keep abreast with the rapid developments in the field of telecommunications.

H.E. is presiding over a Lebanese delegation from the Ministry in said Conference, with around 80 thousand concerned dignitaries from around the globe currently present.

Partaking in several panels, the Minister made entries on means of bolstering mobile telecom services and addressing new challenges and needs witnessed in the world.

The Minister also stressed the need to ensure an environment conducive for the establishment of small and medium-sized companies dedicated to creating programs and developed applications for a better life.

At the sidelines of the Conference, H.E. met with a number of participants and representatives of major telecommunications companies in the world, whereby he explained to them the Lebanese government's plan for the development of the sector. He underlined every endeavor seeking to restore Lebanon's leading role in the field of telecommunications.
